Jack’s first day of school

Here is my big boy off to his second year of Mother’s Day Out.  He is going three days a week this year which I am thrilled about.  Jack loves school……and needs school!  He was puumped this morning and ready to go.  He had John fix his hair “crazy” for him.  I’m sure today will be a good day!

Mabry’s First Day of School

OK….so we will see how it goes.  As most of you know the school time for Mabry has changed.  Her school now starts at 11:30…..which is exactly nap time.  So….we will see how she does.  She did not want to lay down this morning before school.  Maybe she will another day.  Let’s all send good thoughts towards Rucker Elementary today!!!  You can see the mood Mabry was in since the pictures I took of her before school are not so good.  Good luck Mrs. Smith and Ms. Gonzales!!!

Tomorrow…..Come already!

I am so nervous.  Tomorrow is Mabry’s first day of school…..well for this year anyway.  I have been anticipating this day all summer.  Not because I am ready to get rid of her for a couple of hours everyday, but because of the hope of a good year.  We have not had much luck in the past two years with the whole school thing.  But, I feel the winds of change blowing.  I am praying with all my might that this year is going to be different……I pray that this year is the year that Mabry will blossom and that words just start pouring out of her mouth.  I pray that this is the year that Mabry will be able to gather her emotions together and handle them in an appropriate way (maybe her mom needs to learn that also!) I know that God is capable of moving mountains……and I know He is capable of giving Mabry words.  He told Moses that he would teach him to speak and give him the words to say……and I know that He can do it for Mabry.

But…..if this is not the year, then I pray for strength and patience.  I pray that I can learn to accept and understand God’s will for Mabry’s life.  If this is not the year, then I will still be thankful that we are surrounded by people who love her just the way she is. If this is not the year I am still completely in love with a little girl who is able to touch people’s lives without saying one single word to them.

Let’s all be in prayer for all of the kiddos who are starting school tomorrow.  Let’s pray that this will be the year for so many special kids.  May they all have the opportunity to find people at school who love them where they are……and love them for who they are.

Yep….I’m that mom!

Yep….I’m her!  I’m the one you all love to hate.  I am the one who will do anything to insure that Mabry has a good year in school…..even if it means being as crafty as possible.  I am taking these muffins up to Mabry’s teachers and principal tomorrow while they are getting their rooms ready for the school year.  I truly truly am doing this out of appreciation and nothing more.  I think teachers…..especially special education teachers are some of the most under appreciated people on the planet.  Now don’t get me wrong there are some out there that are just collecting a paycheck…..but then there are those who pour their heart and soul into what they do.  They love our children and take a vested interest in their success.  I really do appreciate them…..and when you have a child that will bite a teacher now and then it doesn’t hurt to kill them with kindness!! hehe!

I have made 5 dozen muffins…..time for bed!!!

It’s all over!

For those of you who know me…..know that I have always been prideful of the fact that I have perfect vision.  Well guys…..it’s over.  I have hit 30 and things are falling apart.  Yesterday I received my first pair of glasses…ever…in my entire life.  I started having headaches about a month ago and realized it was b/c I couldn’t see!!! The doctor said it would take me several days to adjust…..maybe I really needed them, b/c I am already adjusted and seeing better than ever.  They aren’t that bad….it just stinks that my perfect vision is no longer.

A Few Pictures

We spent a little time at the beach this week.  It was a much needed vacation for our family.  It was good time for us all to be together.  I wanted to share a few of my favortite pictures.  Of course…..you know who had the camera the whole time…..however I did manage to get in one or two to document that I was actually there.  It was a good time, but it is time to get back to normal and get ready for school.  Enjoy!

Please pray

We have sweet friends named Mindy and Nate Naylor who have a little baby named Cash.  Cash is three months old (I think) and is having seizures.  Please pray for this family today .  They are going through the MRI’s, EEG’s and all that mess that our family is all too familiar with.  These tests are not fun…..and they are nothing but scary…..from the procedure to the outcome.  Please pray for peace for this family and wisdom for the doctors.  Pray they take the time to look at every single test to the fullest and try their hardest to figure out what is going on.  All of this is so scary.  Pray that mountains are moved and that the seizures completely go away. I’ll keep you posted.

Me and My Grammie

My Grammie’s 85th birthday party was this weekend.  It was a big to do.  Lots of friends and family.  Lots of food and lots of laughs.  I came away with two things from this weekend.  First of all I hope that I am still as pretty as my Grammie is when I am 85.  And second, I hope that 80 people show up for my 85th birthday party.  That’s right John…..I’m expecting you to throw me an 85th birthday party!! hehe!

What’s wrong with this picture?

Jack doesn’t have any hair…..that’s what is wrong with this picture.  As many of you know I went out of town this weekend…..without kids.  John was in charge!  I was not even gone 24 hours before Jack got a huge piece of gum stuck in his hair.  OK…..now there are a lot of you moms out there that were thinking the same thing I was.

What was a 3 year old doing with gum??????

Anyhow….it happened……and this is how John solved the problem……by shaving his head completely.  At least we have 3 weeks until school starts.  Hopefully it will grown out by then.
