Mission Accomplished!

Yahoo!!!  I finished my photo album project.  I have to say that I am darn proud of myself.  I am really pleased with the way the albums turned out.  It was so hard getting all of the pictures in order after I actually printed them.  But….they are in albums and I am thrilled.  Now…..I have to go back and write in the albums….uugghh!  But, I think I will cherish this victory for a while before proceeding on.

What makes boys laugh

These fake teeth came out of a vending machine…..cost $.50.  Hours and hours of making your mom, aunt a grandparents laugh……priceless!

Best $25 we ever spent

Jack took swimming lessons a couple of weeks ago.  They only cost $25…..it is a friend of Gretchen’s who does it in the summer.  She was wonderful!  One week ago Jack would not even get off the top step in our pool…..and now look at him.  He is all over the place.  He now has such a blast when he is in the pool.

A legend is gone

One of my favorite characters of all time is now gone.  Estelle Getty who played Sophia on Golden Girls died today at age 84.  If any of you know me well……you know I love me some Golden Girls!!!  Here’s to you Sophia…..thank you for being a friend.  We have traveled down the road and back again…..your heart is true your a pal and a confidant. If we threw a party and invited everyone we knew…..you would see the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say….THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND! It is a sad day around here…..Sophia you will be missed.

Some time away

I have spent some time away from the blogging thing.  I don’t know if I was just busy……or had other projects that needed to be dealt with.  Here are some things that have been on my mind and just have not had time to write about.

  • I love it when John is home!!!  John was home a lot in the month of June.  Now, we are back on a crazy schedule….but I am so thankful for the awesome month of June that we had.  The kids enjoyed it so much…..and I think I was so much more relaxed knowing that he was coming home each night.
  • My Grammie’s 85th birthday is coming up at the end of this month.  What a life 85 years…..I can’t imagine.  She is a loving and beautiful person.  I hope that I am able to live my life half as well as she has lived hers.  We are so blessed to have her!!
  • I love good friends.  I am blessed to have awesome friends.  I have recently discovered some awesome sisters in Christ from our church.  They are an amazing group of women.  But….I am still amazed at how awesome old friends are.  Yesterday I was not feeling good and my friend Maci came and took my kids to her house for 4 hours…..wasn’t that nice?  I love having good friends!
  • Kids can wake up on the wrong side of the bed just like adults…..and I think they have a harder time shaking it off than adults do.  You know from the moment Mabry and Jack wake up as to what kind of day it is going to be.  Isn’t that wierd?
  • Mabry has made such progress lately in her speech.  Two days ago she told me she wanted “Ham and Cheese!”  It is also so cute to watch Jack try to get her to talk.  He of course overhears a lot.  I will hear him in the back of the car say….”Mabry, say poopy!”  Of course he only tries to get her to say words that are not appropriate…..but hey it’s words!
  • We love Miss Julie.  Miss Julie is Mabry’s speech therapist.  She is the best there is.  She puts so much work and effort into Mabry.  She loves her so much and it is so evident.  I wonder if there is a speech therapist appreciation day?  If not I declare that it is tomorrow!
  • OK…..so this summer I started my major picture project.  Every picture I have ever taken of the kids was on my computer.  I decided that I was going to print them all and put them in photo albums.  My friend Courtney is the best I have ever seen someone keeping up with putting pictures in books.  She is amazing.  So…..I decided I would start doing the same thing.  Why can’t I push myself to finish this project???  I have them all printed I just have to put them in books.
  • OK…..I am going to stop blogging for now and go work on my pictures!

8 years together

Yesterday John and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.  I can’t believe it has been 8 years.  That is hard for me to wrap my brain around.  I think how much we have grown in 8 years……mentally, emotionally, spiritually…..and for me physically (hehe!)  We are for sure not the same people we married……I think that is for the best.  It is hard to think that you can love someone so much more each and everyday, but I do.  Seeing John with the kids makes me fall in love all over again.  Thank you John for sweeping me off my feet……for being my best friend…..and loving me each and every day.

I love you…….forever!

Only in Texas

“Only in Texas” is a phrase you hear a lot around here.  Well, I have the perfect scenario for you that accompanies this phrase.  Last night I am sitting on the couch…..talking on the phone…..and all of a sudden I see a huge turkey walk across the yard.  Keep in mind….we really don’t live in the country.  I thought I was losing my mind.  So…..I run and get John and tell him to come take a look.  That turkey was in our front yard and the neighbors were petting him…..what?  Craziest thing I have ever seen.  Of course I run to get my camera……because this is for sure blog worthy. “Only in Texas!”
